Felicia and Winchel Elibert opened the Kingdom Corners in the City of Fayetteville on Nov. 1. They are the first Black couple to purchase and develop a shopping plaza in this Georgia city.
According to WSB Atlanta, the Eliberts have a history of being entrepreneurs. Winchel has owned multiple barbershops, while Felicia worked as a nurse and founded several Cleansing Waters Wellness Center locations. The pair have also owned a Smoothie King for several years, which influenced them in developing the shopping plaza.
“Right across from our Smoothie King and Cleansing Waters location in Fayetteville, there was a sign that said land for sale,” Felicia told the outlet. “We made a phone call to ask about the land, which was at a good price. We checked with our realtor and were encouraged that this was a really good investment.”

She continued, “We’re not developers, so we learned as things progressed. We had some savings and purchased the land in 2020. After that, things moved quickly. The visions started from there.”
The couple worked to develop the idea for Kingdom Corners for nearly four years. It is now home to several businesses, including Frida’s Bar and Grill, Southern Fire Kitchen, Salada, Tanzar Nail Bar, Dough Boy Pizza, Smoothie King, and Cleansing Waters Wellness.
The Eliberts were informed of their history-making endeavor during dinner with Mayor Ed Johnson, who also congratulated them.

The couple hopes that establishing the shopping plaza will bring better food and wellness options to the area, and that it will build generational wealth for their family.
